Corrections to 7th edition:

Table of contents & Index. List Mita 2355 with Mita 1856

Index. Add Canon 6012/F in 6th edition page 5. Note that top of pages 5, 6,7 you should change 6212 to 6412. Actually I should, but I don’t know where your book is.

Index. Add Gestetner 2713 in 7th edition, page 132. Cross reference is Ricoh 3513.

Index. Add Panasonic 7718 in 7th edition, page 114.

Page 58. Minolta 1083/2010: Developer is added through toner port, which was only a guess previously.(6/99)

Page 109: Panasonic 7713/7715. To enter service mode, press these three keys, in sequence, continuing to hold each as you press the others. Paper tray, zoom down, 1. To exit service mode, press these three keys, in sequence, continuing to hold each as you press the others, Paper tray, zoom down, clear/stop. 5/25/03

Page 115, 116 & 121. Panasonic 7718-7735. Add trouble code U14 on page 115: Toner waste bottle full. For User preset mode access code, use 0,0,0. On page 121, F8-08 should be F8-09. 4/15/01

Page 116. Panasonic 7718-7735. Also, probably do the same for the Panasonic 7742/50. To enter service mode, press these three keys, in sequence, continuing to hold each as you press the others. "User preset" "Original size 11x17" "3". To exit service mode, you may have to use the sequence listed, rather than pressing simultaneously, as listed in the book. (4/2000). I have also been told that to exit the "F" modes, you need to hold down the "user preset" & "stop/clear" keys at the same time.

Page 120. Panasonic 7718-7735. Resetting PM will also require resetting Fuser Web Count (F7-26). Apparently, do F7-26, and exit simulation. Than do F7-26 again and enter 80,000 to shut service wrench symbol. 11/12/00

Page 5: Canon PC710-770 and 6012 Reset procedure pins. For PC copiers the pins are JP1 & JP2. For 6012 and C120, the pins are JP3 & JP4. Also, the main board (DC controller) is in the top front of the machine, not the rear.

Page 27. Konica 1015.
Trouble code 26: Toner sensor problem. This means the machine is undertoned. To repair, replace the developer and enter "47" mode. Press 51. Press Print. Allow the machine to cycle until it stops. Some feel that you should disconnect the toner motor first. This code happens, probably because either the machine wasn’t set up properly, or because the customer kept using the machine when the toner light was on.
Developer calibration: After changing developer, enter "47" mode, output 51. Press "Print." Display will flash 51 and machine will cycle for about 3 minutes. If this is not done at 40K developer cycle, machine will often (maybe always) go into a code 26 and will not operate.

Outputs in 47 mode that were omitted in first printing. If you are missing them, call and we will fax you the corrected page.  Page 32: Not a correction, just a clarification since it was not pointed out.

Konica 3135, 4145, 4155, 4255 have no developer calibration required.

The following may be the correct one. To enter service mode, press these three keys, in sequence, continuing to hold each as you press the others. Paper tray, zoom down, 1. To exit service mode, press these three keys, in sequence, continuing to hold each as you press the others. Paper tray, zoom down, clear/stop. 5/26/03

Note that some earlier 5340s and 5350s did not require a procedure other than replacing the web. However, on most models of this group, code 10-320 will display at 250,000 copies. Procedure: Hold "Job Interrupt" button & 5 key while turning on power. Enter 4 digit access code (default code is 8765.) this will not show in the display. If this code does not work, and you cant get the correct code, do the following. Get total copy count by pressing "Review" button on console and then pressing "Billing meter" on touchscreen. Use the last 4 digits of the total count backwards, as the access code. Note that reading the screen will be rather difficult due to the trouble code flashing at you. Once you see the status code screen, press "stop" twice to display the diagnostic screen. Press the HFSI button. Press "Ovr. Thresh" to bring up HFSIs (high frequency service items) which are over the threshold. Using arrows, scroll down to web count. Press "Reset Item." Press "Print" to lock in. Next, select the "DC Routine" screen. Enter "131." Press "Print" to lock in. Press "M/C/Set" button. Press "Print" to confirm reset. To exit diagnostics, press "Service info. Touch "Cal Close."
