Electrical Assembly:

This consists of the DC power supply, the bypass assembly and the sheet metal in that area. It does not include any other boards. It is nothing like the ECU used in the smaller PC copiers.

1. Remove all covers and release clamshell limiters as explained on page 41, also illustration 4, page 42.

2. Remove 3 large screws; 1 is near front, through the gray HVT piece, forward of the belt. 1 is in the front, through the black plastic. The 3rd is in the rear, behind the lower interlock switch.

3. Disconnect 3 connections on the AC driver board (near the on/off switch).

4. Remove one connection at front and 4 on the DC power supply.

5. Lift out.

Transfer Corona:

There are two methods, the right way and the easy way. I prefer the easy way.

The Right Way

1. Remove all covers and release clamshell limiters as explained on page 41, also illustration 4, page 42.

2. Lift out roller inside of belt, just to left of transfer corona. Remove 1 screw that holds down transfer corona in front.

3. Slide transfer corona to front and lift out.

Note: When reinstalling, be sure that tabs (rear) are located properly.

The Easy Way

1. Open clamshell. Remove cartridge or drum unit.

2. Remove lower front cover.

3. Remove two screws that hold down HVT connector. One is a small black screw on the far left (through the gray plastic) of the HVT. The other is a large black screw that goes down through the black plastic piece to the right.

4. Remove 1 screw that holds the transfer corona down, in the front.

5. Pull, wiggle and jiggle corona out. When installing new corona, be sure tabs and clips go in proper places.

Blank Exposure Assembly Slit Glass Removal And Cleaning

This is necessary to clean the top of the slit glass.

1. Remove cartridge or drum unit.

2. Remove all covers and open clamshell to 90 degrees as explained on page 41, also illustration 4, page 42.

3. PC copiers: Remove black plastic assembly, which is held in by 2 screws through the rear frame. This assembly is a cartridge guide rail. NP1010/1020, C100: Black plastic assembly that holds ozone filter can be swung away easily.

4. Remove the 4 screws in the corners of the blank exposure lamp assembly. These are screws "X" in illustration 5, page 45. Do not touch the two screws "Y".
Note: Shoulder screws are towards the front of the machine.

5. Remove the assembly. You can now clean the other side of the slit glass as well as the mirror.
