We now have a manual devoted to these machines. It covers the following models:

Z77, Z85, Z85II, Z85III, Z87, Z88, SF2010, SF6000. Xerox 5008, 5008RE, 5008S, 5009, 5201,

recommendations, shortcuts, part numbers. I am able to brag that this book has information
that is not included in the factory manuals, including trouble codes that the manufacturer
omitted! 95 pages $35.00

Z85 & Z88 (5309 & 5310) Paper Feed Tire Replacement Procedure.
This is the same procedure that is necessary to access the paper feed clutch.
Remove stack feed assembly ( 2 screws and one connector).
Remove toner cartridge & drum cartridge.
Remove cassette.
Remove power supply cover (bottom rear).
Note position of feed tires. Reassemble so that flat section is parallel to paper.
Done with holes in hub.
Remove E-ring near paper feed clutch. If removing only tire sleeves, remove E-rings from other
end and slide new rubber tires on without further disassembly.
Remove inner hub & collar from shaft.
Remove gear from shaft.
Remove E-ring on paper shaft (inside clutch). Remove bushing from shaft.
Stand machine on exit end.
Remove E-ring & washer on front side of paper feed shaft (under machine).
Remove paper feed tire shaft assembly from machine.
Reverse process to reassemble.
Real Easy Feed Problem: A small plastic gear is merely pushed onto its shaft. It sometimes
falls off or walks off far enough not to engage. Just put it back.
Cassette: On occasion, you may want to disassemble the cassette and stretch the spring that
pushes the paper up. You can also replace the spring if you wish.
Exposure Lamp Stays On Constantly: Usual cause of this is the power supply board.
Z52 / 57 Scan Clutch: To minimize future problems, I recommend replacing the scan rail when
replacing the clutch.
