Baseball trivia question answer
: Roger Maris was intentionally walked exactly zero times all of 1961. How could that happen you might ask. Mickey Mantle was on deck. He and Maris were neck & neck in the home run race all year. The Mick (as those of us New Yorkers knew and loved number 7) was injured late in the year, and wound up with 54 home runs. He was also a switch hitter, which made the intentional walk even more unlikely, even in a bad year.

Baseball trivia question answer: The reason why a player cannot be traded for a "player to be named later." In 1962, the first and worst year of the NY Mets (120 losses!) the Mets traded right handed hitting catcher Harry Chiti for a player to be named later. After the season, the other team was ready to complete the deal. The Mets now needed a backup catcher, preferably right handed hitter. You guessed it. They got Harry Chiti! The lords of baseball decided that this could be exploited; a player could, in effect, be lent to a team for a particular purpose (like to clinch a pennant) and then returned, so it is now illegal. It was the kind of thing that happened only because of the 62 Mets.

Baseball trivia question: Who did Maris hit home run number 61 off of? Hints: Right handed pitcher on Boston who played for a NY team shortly after.

Best music of all time.

Not in any particular order. Just stuff that came to mind. I'm sure I'm wrong on some dates. Just going from memory, no research involved. My age is showing for most of these.
