Systems, Ltd. has concluded that the parts business, as we
used to handle it, is not only unprofitable, but was a
substantial drain of time and energy. After careful
analysis, it was calculated that for every $100,000 of
sales, $98,000 was spent on cost of parts, incoming
freight and labor. This did not take into account the 2-3
hours per day that I (Jim Intravia) devoted to
researching, answering inquiries, etc. As a result, we
consider ourselves to be out of the parts business, except
under the strictest conditions. We will still supply Canon
PC and Sharp/Xerox® parts. In nearly all cases, WE WILL
NOT LOOK UP PART NUMBERS. In all but the most obvious
items (lamps, fuser rollers, trays for example) if you
don’t give us the part number, we would just as soon you
went somewhere else. We will not look up part numbers
anymore. If you supply the part number, we can usually
give you a price, if not immediately, within ½ day or so.
In the case of Sharp, we usually cannot research prices,
unless it is an item that we handled regularly, or if you
give us the price code. We will not try to source other
parts anymore. Most parts will be special order and will
require credit card, and in many cases, signature on a "no
return, no cancellation, no refund" form. Jim Intravia

addition to those that we
publish (Usually known as Intravia's
Service Guides), we can get many OEM SERVICE MANUALS. It is quite difficult
to tell you what we can and cannot get. Also, our sources of supply change
frequently, as do prices and availability. Fax or email us a request and we
will get back to you as soon as possible. In some cases, we can order, but
cannot price in advance. We are getting better and better at providing
service manuals.
